Dear Anaheim Hills Families,

Welcome to Anaheim Hills Elementary School for the year 2009-2009. I am pleased to greet our returning students and meet many new students. I look forward to an exciting year. We are all refreshed and ready to begin a year filled with wonderful learning opportunities and a continuing emphasis and focus on reading comprehension, math and writing skills. The staff and I have been busily preparing for positive and exciting leaning opportunities. We have high expectations that all of our students will successfully achieve their personal best at Anaheim Hills. I look forward to continuing to work in partnership with our parents and families to make our school community an effective team.

We are fortunate to welcome three new teachers to our staff that have taught previously at other Orange Unified District schools. Mrs. Karen Lockyer teaches second grade (Room 8) and comes fro Fairhaven Elementary, Mrs. Aekta Patel also teaches a second grade class (Room 5) and comes from Chapman Hills Elementary, and Mrs. Christine Rotsios teaches a kindergarten/first grade combination class (Room1) and comes from Cambridge Elementary. We extend a warm "Panther" welcome to these new staff members.

Mark your calendar with the date of our BACK TO SHCOOL NIGHT, to be held this year on THURSDAY, AUGHUST 7. You will have time to meet your child's new teacher, hear about the exciting plans they have for this year, and ge a glimpse of the school wide and PTA program plans for this year. This event is essential to starting your student off on the right foot, and for your understanding of the daily procedures and expectations of the teachers.

As we work together during the year, I invite you to stay in contact and let me know how you and your youngster(s) are experiencing school. There will be many opportunities for contact with me, please don't hesitate or ever think your comment or concern is unimportant. Through tam work, open communication, and a dedication to continuous improvement, we can make this school a place children delight in and enjoy learning. We look forward to working together as partners in learning.

Sincerely,

Debra S. Larson
Principal
